The topping-out party of the new biohybrid plant of Haapajärven Lämpö Oy was held in August, and almost 200 guests had the chance to visit the plant’s premises and hear about the project.
The topping-out party is a traditional celebration held when a building’s roof reaches its planned height or when the building has been protected from rain. The topping-out ceremony of Haapajärven Lämpö Oy’s new plant was traditionally held in the area of the construction site, on the top floor of the boiler room, and the food and drinks were kept traditional as well. The guests also got to enjoy live music and a few speeches, one of which was held by Jari Nahkanen, Chairman of the Board of Haapajärven Lämpö Oy.
The different parties involved in the project had been invited to the celebration, e.g. workers, subcontractors and designers, who received recognition for good co-operation and a well-progressing construction project. In addition, e.g. employees of Ha-Sa and Niskasen Maansiirto, were also invited to admire the city’s new landmark up close.
The construction of the biohybrid plant has progressed according to schedule and the plant is scheduled for commissioning in the autumn. The plant will be completed in December 2020.
