Installation work for the boiler delivery of the new bioheat plant of Haapajärven Lämpö has begun on April 21st, and MAB Powertec’s project manager Niko Raami and engineering manager Pasi Mäenpää were on site when the installations began this week. “The installation work went relatively well, despite small challenges. With good cooperation and small anticipations in the changed timings, the lifting ended up being successful,” comments Mäenpää.

In the first installations, the main equipment of the 20 MW fluidized bed boiler and the chimney, all supplied by KPA Unicon Oy, were lifted into their places. In Haapajärvi, the installation work will continue during the spring and summer, and the commissioning of the plant will take place in the autumn.

Janne Alpua, CEO of Haapajärven Lämpö, was also following the installation work, and he is satisfied with the progress of the project: “There are always challenges in installations and projects in general, but they have been overcome and the project is progressing well on schedule.”

MAB Powertec acts as the owner’s engineer service provider for Haapajärven Lämpö in this project and has been responsible for instance for the preliminary design of the project, public procurement management and project coordination.
